Our Strategy

The AGP’s Vision

“Help build a sustainable aerospace industry that benefits the whole UK.”

The AGP’s mission is to establish the UK as a global leader in the development and manufacture of next-generation sustainable aircraft technologies. This ambition is underpinned by a strong, collaborative national ecosystem in which globally competitive businesses, academia, and government work together to drive innovation, support high-value manufacturing, and create high-quality jobs across all regions of the UK.

The AGP’s strategy is structured around three core pillars: Innovation, Competitive Business, and People and Skills. These pillars reflect the key drivers required to secure the long-term success of the UK aerospace sector. Through coordinated activity across its five Working Groups, the AGP delivers targeted programmes and initiatives designed to accelerate technological advancement, enhance industrial capability, strengthen supply chains, and develop a future-ready workforce.

Central to this strategy is a commitment to sustainability, including the transition to net zero aviation, increased efficiency across manufacturing and operations, and the development of cleaner propulsion and materials technologies. The AGP also supports the adoption of digitalisation and advanced manufacturing techniques to ensure the UK remains at the forefront of global aerospace innovation.

Delivery of the AGP’s vision relies on deep and sustained collaboration between Government and industry. The continued support of the Department for Business & Trade, alongside other relevant departments and devolved administrations, demonstrates the UK Government’s recognition of the aerospace sector as a critical driver of economic growth, technological leadership, and international competitiveness.
